Deadline are reporting that Marvel have already found the actor they want to play Captain America's sidekick, Bucky. The article was posted on April 1st, and the internet loves April Fools, so I'm not sure whether it is real news or not. The article seems pretty legit and it points to Gossip Girl star Sebastian Stan as the man Marvel want for Bucky.

The article isn't full of details. It just states that the studio has told Deadline that Stan will be in Captain America as Bucky and that the deal he has signed will include multiple film options. This hints at the possibility of Stan playing the Winter Soldier in a future movie because that is the role Bucky takes when he is rediscovered in the present day comics.

I haven't seen Stan in anything. I despise Gossip Girl but it appears to be the Australian version of Home and Away, that is it seems to produce actors and actresses with some desirable talent (whether that be acting talents or physical talents remains to be seen). Thing is, on a physical level, I could actually see this guy following around Chris Evans and hanging off his every word, always looking to impress him. At least Marvel has cast someone that Evans can look and feel superior to. It is also shaping up to be one of the prettiest casts going round, maybe Marvel are starting to think they should have cast someone younger and less menacing than Hugo Weaving as the Red Skull because really, he looks like he could just eat these guys up no problems.
