Iron Man 2 Trailer and Thor Updates

Ha ha tricked you there the Iron Man 2 trailer hasn't been released yet, but that hasn't stopped fans from asking director Jon Favreau when we'll see it. Last night on Twitter a fan Tweeted this:

RT @Ann_Howard: @Jon_Favreau PLEASE tell us the trailer is coming soon - w/Sherlock Holmes, perhaps??

Favreau, in his response, retweeted the question and that was it. Now the web is taking that as Favreau confirming that the Iron Man 2 trailer will be released with Sherlock Holmes, which means we will see it on Christmas Day. Obviously Favreau is not in a position at the moment to release any details about the trailer which would explain why he just retweeted the question or he just wanted to cause a stir on the web. Right now this is in the rumour category but I imagine we'll be hearing about an Iron Man 2 trailer soon enough.

Speaking of Marvel and Twitter, Kennith Branagh's Thor movie (which has been burning up the internet with its casting and general hype) has been getting a bit of Twitter love and ANOTHER cool cast member. Brian Bendis and Joe Quesada started the Thor Twittering last night with both men tweeting about the film. Quesada, editor-in-chief at Marvel had this to say:

"I could listen to Branagh talk about Thor all day long. Cast is in place, sets are being built and screenplay is brilliant. Marveldom rules!"
While Bendis, who is a comic book author, had this to say:
"Broadcasting live from marvel west. Thor movie meeting with Ken branagh was over the top amazing. Visited the sets! I was in Odin's chamber!"
"U should get in line for the Thor movie today. Just saying."
Obviously both men are going to be very excited about the movie, it's a big thing for Marvel, and they'll need to give it all the good press they can but from the casting and the general buzz around the film it sounds like it could actually be a very good film, but the issue of how they will tie in (Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Thor) still bugs me but hopefully the guys at Marvel will make it work.

Meanwhile the awesome cast of Thor just got a little bit more awesome. Idris Elba, it has been reported, will play the role of Heimdall the guardian of Asgard who protects the city from intruders. Elba played Mumbles in Rock 'n' Rolla, starred in The Wire and is no stranger to comic book films due to his involvement in the to be released adaptation of The Losers. I loved the guys in Rock 'n' Rolla, they were just so cool and I'd have to say I'm happy with Elba's inclusion in Thor. Branagh certainly has an all star cast which now includes Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore, Samuel L. Jackson, Stellan Skarsgard, Stuart Townsend, Ray Stevenson and Tadanobu Asano. Look out for Thor in May 2011.
