In a move that I personally thought would have happened a long time ago Stellan Skarsgard, who plays Bootstrap Bill in the Pirates of the Carribean series, has joined the cast of Thor.

Skarsgard certainly has the Nordic Viking look, just check him out as Cerdic in King Arthur, so from day one I always thought he'd have to feature in Thor somehow. There was no word on the role he would play but I'm speculating that he could be the one to play Odin, Thor's father. Surely Odin will feature somewhere in the story and having a known actor like Skarsgard play him would be great. Other than that all I can speculate is that he will definetley be part of the Norse world and not the human world because, well, he looks the part so much. Hopefully Marvel will enlighten us all soon as so far the news has only appeared in a Swedish newspaper.
